How do I install an ICC profile

How do I install an ICC profile?

Why a colour profile?

Quite simple! The printer prints in the colour space iso.Coatedv2, or rather in our own colour profile based on the iso.Coatedv2 profile. Accordingly, you get the best print result with a vector-based PDF in the colour space CMYK with the colour profile iso.Coatedv2.

So how do I install a colour profile?

Windows:

  1. Unzip the folder.
  2. Right-click the ICC file and select ‘Install Profile’.
  3. Alternatively, copy it into the folder \WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color manually.

macOS:

  1. Paste the colour profile into /Library/ColorSync/Profiles to install it.
  2. Or into /Users/[username]/Library/ColorSync/Profiles.

If you cannot find the Library folder:

  1. Go to the Finder.
  2. Click ‘Go’ and press the Option (alt) key.
  3. The menu expands and ‘Library’ appears in the middle.
  4. Then go to ‘ColorSync’ and then ‘Profiles’.
  5. Paste it there.

Colour profile in my graphics program?

Adobe programs:

  1. For a new file: go to ‘Edit’ and select the target profile (see image 1).
  2. For an existing file: click ‘Assign Profile’ and select the target profile.

CorelDRAW:

  1. When creating a file: under ‘Color Settings’, select the target profile as the CMYK profile.
  2. For a file already created: under ‘Tools’, select the target profile in ‘Color Management Settings’.
