DTF Transfer Blockout - A4

Product information "DTF Transfer Blockout - A4"

Blockout DTF in A4, 210 x 297 mm

A4 is the compact Blockout format for individual logos, chest designs and initial material tests on dyed polyester. The Blockout adhesive holds back dyes that migrate upwards from the textile and helps keep light print areas clean. If you are planning a jersey or softshell run, use the small sheet to test the specific material batch first while keeping the effort low.

  • Intended for polyester textiles where dye can migrate
  • The special adhesive is already in the transfer; you do not need a separate layer in the print file
  • Even a single piece is produced
  • Tiered prices depend on the quantity
  • Single-page file as PDF or PNG

Print files for the Blockout sheet in A4

In the Template tab, you will find the matching format file ready for you. The sheet must measure exactly 210 x 297 mm to the millimetre, as we do not trim anything and do not scale your file. We recommend 300 dpi, the ISO Coated v2 (ECI) colour profile, a transparent background and lines of at least 0.4 mm. Please do not mirror. The finished transfer already contains the Blockout adhesive, so you do not need to set up anything for it in the print files.

Blockout is intended for suitable polyester items. Textiles with a waterproofing treatment or a water-repellent coating are not among them. Before a larger run, a material test on the original item is still recommended.

Putting together your A4 order and sending files

If you are unsure about the files, add the Pro File Check. Then drag your single-page PDF or PNG files into the upload field, enter the number you want for each file and add the fully configured order to your basket. The quantity tiers are shown directly on the product.

The upload allows a maximum of 500 MB per file. Multi-page PDFs are reported as faulty. You will then receive an email and can send the matching single page by email afterwards. You will find the pressing values in the current heat press settings.

Pro File Check, drawn laptop with magnifying glass as a symbol for checking print files
Pro File Check

2 correction rounds The Pro File Check does not include any design work. The file check does not apply to Designer products and express products. The Pro File Check cannot be ordered on its own, i.e. without the associated product order, because we would then have no file to check. If an order contains only the file check, we therefore have no choice but to cancel it. If you would like to add the check afterwards, this must be agreed with our support team.  Not sure whether your uploaded files are set up correctly? Or would you simply like us to check them again? No problem. The Pro File Check is exactly what you need! If we find something in your files that is not right, they will not go to print as they are. Instead, we will contact you and tell you what needs to be adjusted. What we check: Format: Are your files set up in the format you ordered? Colour: Are your files set up in CMYK? Is the correct colour profile embedded?  Is the main transparency set up correctly? In other words, we check that the gang sheet is not completely covered by an area of colour. This only refers to the main transparency of the sheet, not the transparencies within the graphics, because we cannot judge whether they are intended If your files do not meet our requirements, the production and delivery time of your DTF transfers may be extended or postponed by the time it takes for the new files to arrive.

DTF colour chart CMYK with 964 colours, fanned-out colour sample sheets
DTF Colour Chart CMYK with 964 Colours

Colour-accurate printing instead of guessing on screen Your screen glows, a printed textile does not. A monitor mixes colour from light, whereas a DTF transfer mixes it from pigment that sits on the fabric. That is exactly why a shade on the shirt almost always looks different from how it looked on the computer. What you get here is therefore not a screen sample or a paper sample, but a real printed DTF transfer. The set consists of 10 colour charts in A3 format. Spread across these charts are 964 colour swatches, each labelled with its CMYK value underneath. This means colour matching happens before production, including any adjustments, rather than as a correction after the first proof. How to get from the colour swatch to your print file On the pressed chart, pick out the swatch that matches the shade you want, note the CMYK value underneath and enter it in your print file. Set up the file in the CMYK colour space with ISO Coated v2 (ECI) as the colour profile, as this is our standard for DTF transfers. That way, the result is clear before your first file even reaches us, and a repeat order ends up in the same shade as the first one. You will find everything about setting up files in the FAQ. Press the charts onto black textiles Judge the shade on the pressed print, not on screen Note the CMYK value on the swatch Enter this value in your own file Keep the chart for later approvals and repeat orders Why the background should be black Please always press the colour charts onto black textiles so that you get the best colour perception. Every DTF transfer has a white base layer that separates the design from the fabric. Against a black background, the opacity shows in full and the colour impression stays true, because no light fabric shows through and lifts the shade. We explain how the individual layers are built up under DTF transfers. Who benefits from the set The chart helps wherever a shade has to be fixed reliably: for company and club colours, for runs that are reordered again and again over months, and for customers who expect to approve the colours before printing. Instead of a vague description, you then have a colour swatch with a clear CMYK value on the table. You will receive 10 colour charts in A3, printed as DTF transfers. Colour charts are excluded from complaints. This does not apply to defective colour charts.

All in One sample pack from DTF-King, mailing bag with sample sheets of all product types
Sample Pack - All in One

Sample Pack All in One: test DTF, UV DTF and sublimation before you order How a print feels, how sharp its edges are and how well it covers only becomes clear on the finished print, not on screen. That is why the Sample Pack contains test prints of our products and other prints, so you can feel the differences for yourself before you place your first larger order. These samples are included Test print with DTF standard adhesive Test print with DTF Blockout adhesive Mini colour chart as a sample UV DTF standard print as a sample UV DTF print in matt as a sample UV DTF print in transparent as a sample Sublimation print as a sample Standard and Blockout in direct comparison For cotton and cotton blends, the DTF standard adhesive is intended. The Blockout adhesive was developed for dyed polyester textiles and holds back dyes that could otherwise migrate into light areas of the design under the heat of the press. The surest way to tell which adhesive suits which textile is to lay both samples side by side and feel them yourself. You will find the details under DTF transfers. UV DTF in three finishes The pack contains three versions of UV DTF: Standard is opaque and glossy, Matt has a more understated surface, and Transparent has no white print, so the surface shows through the design. The quickest way to find out which one suits your material is to place the samples on the surface you want to decorate, i.e. on the glass, metal or plastic. More details under UV DTF transfers. How to go about testing First, go through the samples by hand and pay attention to how they feel and how the edges look. In the second step, press one of them with your own press onto a textile that you sell yourself. The test piece then goes in the wash, following the care instructions of the textile and ideally over several cycles, so that you can judge colour fastness and edges after washing too. You will find everything about application in the FAQ. Always do the test on an offcut and never on a finished item from a customer order.
